You are here: Home > I'm New > Becoming a Christian

A good moral life, kindness, church membership, giving to the poor, etc., cannot cleanse the soul from sin. There is only one way to be saved, and that is through the blood of Jesus Christ (I John 1:7).

The Bible says:

"...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"...Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3

What you must do:

"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Romans 10:9-10

Ask for forgiveness:

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9

Accept your salvation by faith:

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13
